Apple Delight (in less than 10 minutes)

Joy at Joys of Home is having a "paint outside the black box" party. This is a little outside the box, wouldn’t you say?
Here is a look at the before…

My dad rescued this one for me. It was on its way to the D.I. and he called to see if I wanted it. Did I ever! I love, love, love old furniture with funky lines. I also like FREE.

Let me explain the color choice. I have been working on a craft/sewing/art room. A place for my kids and myself (& my better half – if he was even the slightest bit artistic, & I say that with love) to go to make & create. The one thing I want for it to be is a happy, colorful place. You can see some of my color inspiration in the fabrics below. So, while I hand painted the other dresser turquoise (check out my older post to see this one), my hubby spray painted this little Green Apple delight. He was done in 10 minutes! Perhaps some artistic ability after all!
The room is not quite put together yet. Still working on a few other pieces, like the chairs posted below. But now that I am done with the stash quilt & my older kids are back in school, hopefully I will soon be wrapping it up!

I'm enjoying this paint party so much! You're the second person to paint that style of furniture such a fun color. I'm so very glad you did! I have a bedroom set this style. It was mine and then it was passed down to my daughter. She's married now and I was trying to decide what to do with the furniture. After seeing the look of it in these bright colors, I've decided to keep it and give it a fresh, fun, updated look for our guest bedroom.
Thank you so much for joining the party!

Oh my word! I love it! I can't believe the transformation. I'll spray paint anything that doesn't run away from me but I didn't see the potential in that piece. It's stunning!

Beautiful!!! I love that color and that piece looks so fun and whimsical. I used that same color to transform an old mirror into a bulletin board for my girls' room.

Look forward to seeing what else you do.

My daughter has that same dresser. I really like it but I wasn't so original. I painted mine white. I never thought to spray paint it though. I rolled it on and therefore, her desk is still unfinished.

Ok, I SO want to see your room when it's done!!!! Don't let me miss it!! :)
I like the aqua/apple green idea...I may steal that and paint my other chairs apple green!! Oooo, thanks for the idea. I do love pink...but the blue/green would suit our home better. Awesome!!

We DID repaint the handles. For this we just used silver spray paint. Such a QUICK fix!

whoa. LOVE the green apple. i used to have an old dresser like that. I would never have thought that it would take paint like that. I thought it was some mystical fake wood that would take years of stripping or scratching it up to get something to adhere to it. am i making any sense? most excellent job!

Did you sand or prime before.. or just the green paint? My girlfriend got rid of this set.. kickn' myself I didn't grab it up! Learning lots.. I love it! Can't wait to see the room done.

No prep work at all! Just laid down some newspaper in the garage & went for it! Spray paint is SO easy, it's almost too good to be true!

Oooh! I have some furniture that looks just like that. The details look great painted a monochrome color. Now if I could just decide what "luscious" color to use.

That turned out great! That is the color I wanted for a frame I painted but mine is much brighter, I didn't see that color...

I found you from Kimba's site...congratulations!
