Rouenneries Valentine Quilt

Right now I am on a "use what I have kick".
I have a tendency to buy fabric just because I like it, even if I don't have a particular project in mind.
For example, at least a year ago, I bought a rouenneries charm pack, and immediately after,
 it was buried & forgotten.

Last week I was digging around in one of my fabric drawers and it was rediscovered.
I still liked the fabric, but what do you do with just one charm pack?

Based on the color palette of this fabric line, and my complete lack of any Valentine's decorations
for our home, a little light bulb came on.

I cut all of the charm squares into quarters to make the heart and borders.

I didn't have any fabric for the binding.  Since I am in the process of "de-stashing",
I used decorator weight ticking.  I wasn't sure how it would wash up, but it worked perfectly.
And, since this is just a wall quilt, the stiffer fabric won't be a comfort issue.

It's a little cheesy, but for Valentine's Day, I think it works.

(Finished product measures 28.5 x 33)

It does work and I think it's adorable! I have a charm pack that I got free over a year ago with a purchase and just don't know what to do with it. Maybe this is an answer since it's Valentine's fabric!

It's great, and I don't think it's cheesy at all. It's a perfect representation of the season.

Who thought that sewing 2 1/2" squares of fabric together could create something so lovely. Will have to make one of these for myself.

I was looking for a quick project to accomplish in the next couple of weeks. This is it! I don't think it's cheesy...but then I've always wondered who applies terms like "tacky" or "cheesy" to items? It's all personal taste. And this one tastes good to me! Toni

I finished my version of your totally wonderful heart quilt. Your directions were easy to follow and I'm so pleased with the resutls. This quilt was my first time machine quilting as I hand quilt all my quilts. I did hearts in each square of the large heart and am pleased with it. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern - it is to cute. I'm putting mine in my dining room.
