I told myself I couldn't start a new quilt until I finished this one. So, my cool toned vintage sheet quilt is finally done.
Here is the front...
And the back, which I have to say is my favorite side...
When I was growing up, we would often go visit my grandparents in Idaho. Two of the guest bedrooms in their home were called the "Green Room" and & "Blue Room", and they were filled with the "retro" (although not so retro at the time) floral linens from the 70's. Those rooms looked the exact same my whole life - their generation was not obsessed with re-decorating the way ours seems to be. This quilt reminds me of those rooms & more particularly of my grandmother, Grace.
And, because I am entranced with the sky of late, I thought I would share a little piece of yesterday with you...
I love your quilt, it turned out great! My grandparents were the same way with decorating. I remember the guest bedrooms staying the same throughout my childhood. The picture of the skyline is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!

A-mazing!!! How you find those gorgeous colorful sheets, i'll never know. because they are not in MY neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteI love the design you did.
funny, i'm really into blue/green lately, too and with this cool weather and rain everywhere i see blue green and it's so inspirational. like your clouds.
Beautiful sheet quilt. I love the colors and the skyline is amazing. I am a sucker for storms!
ReplyDeleteI *adore* that quilt!! Amazing that you could collect enough really vibrant colors together to pull it off. It looks simply fantastic!
ReplyDeleteNatalie, I adore and love this quilt. When I wrapped it around me today it felt like a big hug from your Grandma. I miss her and am glad you made something which is so like her:) You know you have quite a few of her characteristics.
ReplyDeleteLove the sky picture too :)
I wound up at your site because I GOOGLED..."End Table Makeover". Then found myself spending the last hour or so scrolling through all your blogs from the last 2 years.:) I love some of your ideas and projects and I too am a "Paint It" Gal. But I found this site inspirational and plan to start documenting all my makeovers, ideas and thoughts. I love re-decorating and changing things up and I look forward to sharing it. THANKS SO MUCH!!!
